Make sure that version 9.2 of CardScan Software is installed (you can download it here - After upgrade and install (if not already present), start CardScan Software and then connect the scanner to the computer. After a little while you will see the scanner light turn blue and you can now scan a new business card. Currently, OS X 10.11 “El Capitan” is not compatible with DYMO CardScan business card scanners. DYMO is working with Apple to resolve the incompatibility, but until a resolution can be found, do not upgrade to OS X El Capitan if you wish to continue using your CardScan scanner with your Mac computer.
